Sandpictures have fascinated me since I saw my first one in a market in Fort Myers over thirty years ago. I set about making one as soon as I got back home.

Watching the sand fall in random patterns is fascinatingly hypnotic and soo relaxing. Their construction is straightforward, just water, an air barrier and the sand mix, sealed between two sheets of glass but the task of matching the collection of sands so that interesting patterns are created is a truly Sisyphean challenge.

For the curious customer, each Sandpicture comes with instructions on how to adjust the rate of flow of the sand and as a result the type of pattern generated.
